We have put together some top tips to help get your #DystoniaAroundTheWorld challenge off to a great start. Please let us know how you get on and if you need more support by emailing fundraising@dystonia.org.uk, we love hearing from you!
Make the most of your fundraising page
Add photos - your profile picture plus photo updates before, during and after your challenge can help your supporters feel part of the journey with you
Tell your story - include your reasons for taking on the challenge and what it means to you
Tell our story - once everyone is aware of why you are supporting us, let them know how their kind donations make a difference. Find out more about our work on our website and include it on your fundraising page
Get yourself started - sometimes people don’t want to be the first to donate, so get your fundraising page started by self-donating. Research shows that fundraisers who self-donate raise 54% more.
Say thank you - as soon as someone donates, they get an automated thank you response from Funraisin. Personalise that message to thank your supporters in your own words
Get sharing - tell everyone why you’re taking part in the challenge and be sure to include a link to your fundraising page
Make the most of social media
Shout about your challenge on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and all the other social media platforms you may use
Go Live and talk directly to your supporters on Facebook or Instagram
Tag your close connections (@name/username) and ask them to help you spread the word
Mention @DystoniaUK as we love seeing your updates!
Communicate with people outside of your immediate network by using a hashtag. Make hashtags relevant (e.g. #dystonia) and use your local area (e.g. #Newcastle)
